Toccoa Falls College’s Student Government Association has chosen rising senior Matthew Smith to fill the Community Partnerships Chair in the 2023-2024 school year.

Lily Ann Waldrep, a rising junior at Toccoa Falls College, will maintain her position as Administrative Specialist Chair for the Student Government Association’s 2023-2024 Executive Council.

Toccoa Falls College’s Student Government Association has officially selected their Executive Council for the upcoming academic year. Rising junior Julianne Jones will be filling the Publicity Chair.

On Thursday, May 4, SGA hosted their annual Classapalooza event, which is a field day-like tournament between the four cohorts of Toccoa Falls College. SGA President and Vice President Emily Johnson and Jacob Hunt served as referees and instructors. The tournament, hosted at the pond from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., consisted of four major events that the four cohorts competed in for the ultimate crown.

The 2023-2024 Senate has been decided, and there are four new student leaders! Arianna Coy and Chloe McClain will be stepping into roles as Diversity Committee and Campus Improvement and chairs, respectively.

For the third year in a row, the TFC Gaming Club hosted an all-campus egg hunt to kick off Easter weekend, this time with a twist. The hunt took place across campus Tuesday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as students scurried to earn prizes for finding eggs and the Easter bunny.

The ballots were cast, and the new SGA President and Vice President are upcoming seniors Natalie Johnson and Lauryn Juarez! The new President is Natalie Johnson, a 20-year-old Interpersonal Communications major with a minor in Cross-Cultural Studies. Lauryn Juarez is working alongside Johnson as her Vice President. Juarez is a 19-year-old Ministry Leadership major with a minor in Bible and Theology.

To celebrate the end of the 2022-2023 NFL season, SGA held a Super Bowl party in Forrest Lobby on Sunday, Feb. 12. The Campus Life team set up speakers and spikeball in the “U” parking lot prior to kickoff. SGA gave students a chance to win a $50 gift card if they could predict the final score.

Toccoa Falls College’s 2022 Homecoming celebration kicked off Friday afternoon when the TFC men’s and women’s soccer teams faced off against Regent University. The crowd was filled with current TFC students and alumni, who packed the bleachers to cheer on our beloved Screaming Eagles.

Emily Johnson’s time at Toccoa Falls College has been filled with opportunities that began even before her first official day as a student. In 2018, Johnson won TFC’s Future Scholars competition which included a full-ride scholarship.

The clubs at TFC are back! In September, SGA held TFC’s annual Club Fair. A few new clubs joined this year: the Psychology Club, Dance Society, and the D n’ D Club.

Student Government Association’s Executive Council took on senate responsibilities during the 2021-2022 school year, but the senate will return this fall.

The 2022 Mr. TFC competition dazzled Toccoa Falls College students on the night of March 4. This year’s nominees were freshman Kolten Welch , sophomore Sean Brett, junior Wilfred Howe, and senior Michael Olesky. After five rounds of competition that included a lip sync battle, a talent portion, a game of charades, and a “How-To” Presentation, the votes were counted! On February 10, the Student Government Association’s Not-So-Talent Show offered students a chance to share their humor with the campus. Upon entering WM104, students were given a party hat to wear during the show. It started with an act called “Stuck on You” by Tim Heath, Jacob Hunt, and Anora Kowalski. Anora told a series of jokes while Heath and Hunt put stick glue all over their faces. This act set the mood for the rest of the show, which only got funnier as the night progressed.
