SGA Executive Council Welcomes Julianne Jones, Publicity

Toccoa Falls College’s Student Government Association has officially selected their Executive Council for the upcoming academic year. Rising junior Julianne Jones will be filling the Publicity Chair.

Jones is passionate about art and marketing and intends to utilize these skills in her new role. 

“I remember seeing a painted advertisement in front of the Student Center first week of classes as a freshman and saying out loud that I wanted to know who was responsible for making them and if I could help too,” Jones said.

The publicity committee creates advertisements for upcoming campus events via sandwich boards, posters, banners, and emails. They also run SGA’s social media accounts while communicating with different organizations on campus.

Jones currently serves on the committee under Natalie Johnson. Upon hearing that she had been chosen to fill Johnson’s position, Jones said that she felt overwhelmed and unworthy. 

“This is something I have been hoping to be a part of since my first week on this campus,” Jones said. “It felt unreal that I had gotten it.”

As she steps into the position, Jones hopes to continue creating excitement for events through the advertisements. She wants to show the student body how much the Executive Council and their committees care about the details of each event SGA and other organizations host. Jones is also excited to see what other opportunities will present themselves next year and how they can be used to help her learn and grow.
