Lauryn Juarez, President of SGA, spoke with the Talon about the 2023-2024 updated SGA team and how these changes have positively impacted the rest of the team.

Steve and Claudia Irvin have been serving with the Christian Missionary Alliance for forty-four years, retiring this year. They both attended Toccoa Falls College, graduating in 1978 and 1979.

This fall, The Talon is highlighting 2023 graduating seniors. Caris Ruth Schoolcraft, the former president of the Theatrical Society, and a General Studies major (with a teaching minor), met with The Talon to reminisce about her experience at Toccoa Falls College. Schoolcraft described her experiences as a student and shared advice to underclassmen. 

Toccoa Falls College hosted the National Christian College Athletic Association’s 2023 “South Regional Kickoff” tournament on September 8 and 9 in the Louis Delany Athletic Center. The TFC Women’s volleyball team won all four of their contests.

Why is the story of Hannah even included in Scripture? Why did the Lord not inspire the author of the book of 1 Samuel to simply begin with Samuel hearing the call of the Lord, or with the anointing of Saul as King over Israel? We cannot know the answer for certain, of course, but it is worth considering. Perhaps, the Lord wanted to remind us about the nature of surrender.

As the semester begins, the seasons change, and our workload begins to pick up, it is easy to become overwhelmed with feelings of despair. What if there was another way to handle the challenges of everyday life? Rather than dwelling in melancholy, we can hold firm to the truth that God keeps track of all of our sorrows.

Toccoa Falls College’s Student Government Association has selected rising junior Nick Briscoe as Campus Life Chair for the 2023-2024 Executive Council.

Toccoa Falls College’s Student Government Association has officially selected their Executive Council for the upcoming academic year. Rising junior Julianne Jones will be filling the Publicity Chair.

On Thursday, May 4, SGA hosted their annual Classapalooza event, which is a field day-like tournament between the four cohorts of Toccoa Falls College. SGA President and Vice President Emily Johnson and Jacob Hunt served as referees and instructors. The tournament, hosted at the pond from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., consisted of four major events that the four cohorts competed in for the ultimate crown.

The Biology Department at Toccoa Falls College offers scientific instruction integrated with faith. In recent years, the department has increased their range of unique concentrations for students who hope to succeed post-graduation. Three specializations are available in TFC's biology department: Pre-Professional, Ecology and Environmental Science, and Public Health.
