2023 Club Fair: Building Community Through Shared Interests

With free snow cones, corn hole games, faux sword fights, and an opportunity to join like-minded peers in small groups; the annual Toccoa Falls College Club Fair was a great success.

On Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, representatives from every club on campus joined together on LeTourneau Field to welcome prospective club members. The annual TFC Club Fair presents an enjoyable way for all TFC students to find and join a community that shares their interests. The opportunity to join and create clubs is open to all students. It offers a great chance to meet and interact with fellow students, professors, faculty, and community members.

TFC offers a wide variety of clubs with groups ranging from the Debate Team to the Sportsmen Club. The majority of campus clubs meet once a week, meaning that even the busiest of students have the opportunity to get involved.

Film Club President, Nathanael Seaman said, “We really enjoyed being at the club fair, meeting all of the students, and learning about people's interests regarding film. We ended up buying way more candy than we needed to, but we had a lot of fun throwing them at people! Lily, Logan, and I are really excited for some of the projects we have planned for the semester and look forward to working alongside fellow film geeks.” The film club is a great resource for all students that are looking to participate in the making and production of film. If you love making and watching films, or are a self-proclaimed ‘film geek’, this is the club for you!

Theatrical Society Club President, Olivia Etherton, told The Talon, “We want to build a community and be an outlet where new and existing students can use their gifts and talents God has given them! As for the club fair, the event was a real hit! We had a lot of interest this year which is extremely exciting! We also got to meet a bunch of new students and hear what their passions are! Overall, a super great event and I cannot wait for next year's club fair!” The Theatrical Society is a great way for all that join to grow as a thespian and a performer. It does not matter if you have been performing for ten years or if you have never heard of Shakespeare, if you love theatre, the Theatrical Society is the place for you.

Director of Student Engagement, Danny Ringenoldus, said, “The club fair is a great example of how many ways we have on this campus to get involved with other people that share your interests, and joining a club is one of the best ways to really dig deeper into being a part of the TFC community.”

The opportunity to join a club this semester does not end with the Club Fair! To find more information regarding clubs on campus, follow the TFC Student Government Association’s Instagram account @tfcsga, and keep an eye out for ‘TFC Weekly’ emails for updates. It is never too late to plug into campus and join in on the fun.
