Screaming Eagles Begin 2023 Baseball Season
Toccoa Falls College’s Coach Joshua Taylor and his Screaming Eagles have hope for their 2023 baseball season after a massive victory over BCA Post Grad following a preseason doubleheader Friday, Jan. 27. The Screaming Eagles led BCA Post Grad 17-2 and 8-5.
Davis Resigns as VP for Student Affairs, Thorne to be Acting VP
After nearly six years, Dr. Abigail Davis will resign as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Toccoa Falls College, effective Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023. Current Director of Housing and Residence Life Katie Thorne will begin new duties as Acting VP for Student Affairs Thursday, Feb, 23, 2022.

Emily Johnson’s time at Toccoa Falls College has been filled with opportunities that began even before her first official day as a student. In 2018, Johnson won TFC’s Future Scholars competition which included a full-ride scholarship.

My Journey with Epilepsy
Epilepsy is “a neurological disorder that causes seizures or unusual sensations and behaviors.” It involves misfiring signals in your brain that can cause your lip to twitch or you to fall out of your seat. When I was three-and-a-half years old, I was diagnosed with Continuous Spike-wave Discharge During Sleep (CSWDDS), which is a unique form of epilepsy.

Suicide. The first time I remember hearing this word I was 11 years old. It was a beautiful November day, and my mother came into my room crying. She told me that my great uncle had killed himself. At the time, I did not really understand what had happened. I just knew that I was confused and sad. My uncle had been an outwardly happy person. He was funny, loved his family and served in his church. How could someone who seemed “okay” not really be, okay?
Get to Know TFC’s New History Professor
With the retirement of the History Department’s former head, Dr. Jalovick, the title has been passed to a new member of the TFC community, Dr. John-Paul Hill. Dr. Hill currently teaches Historiography, Western Civilizations I and United States History I. Next semester, he plans to teach Western Civilizations II, United States History II and American Church History.
People of TFC: Rinaldo Bonomi
Rinaldo Bonomi is a Music Performance Major at TFC, with guitar as his primary instrument. He is well known for his loving personality that spreads throughout campus, especially in the coffee house – his place of work. However, Bonomi did not see himself as a musician at first, but as an aspiring neurosurgeon at Duke University. It was not until he saw God’s plan for his life that he realized what was in store for his future.

We’re nearly halfway into the Fall 2022 semester, and there is a new leader of the Gaming Club! President Tiffany Franklin is a freshman majoring in Business Administration, and is excited to be hosting some interesting events this year!
