Professor Nancy Hyndman’s Knitting and Crocheting Barnabas Group is meeting needs in the city of Toccoa for yet another year. This year, the B-group is donating blankets to the Power House for Kids and hats to the Toccoa Cancer Center.

My path to Toccoa Falls College and Alternative Baseball began on November 27, 1995: the day in which I, Taylor Clark Duncan, was born to my parents at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga., at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon. It seemed I was born in normal shape at a healthy weight of 8 pounds and was brought home to Hiram, Georgia, despite doctors’ predictions of physical problems upon birth.
Thumbs Up Mission Serves 1,000th Family With Cancer
In early February 2023, the Thumbs Up Mission organization served its 1000th family struggling with cancer. The family, along with many other families, were offered an all-expense-paid retreat to Great Wolf’s Lodge in LaGrange, Ga., from Saturday, Feb. 4, at 12 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 6.

Fulfill Your SAOs with Furry Friends
Toccoa Falls College requires that each student complete four Service and Outreach opportunities. If you’re looking for a way to be involved in the community and earn SAO hours, check out the local animal shelter: Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter. The animal shelter is in need of volunteers, and it is a great way for students to benefit the community while receiving SAO credit.

On Saturday, November 7, the city of Toccoa held its annual Fall Festival. This year it was titled “Pumpkin Daze” and the name was not the only thing that was different about the festival in 2020.

Community Highlights
Toccoa has many opportunities to get involved in the community, even with the town's small size. Often times, the small nature of the city makes getting involved that much more personal. Students at Toccoa Falls are blessed with such a rich community on campus, but there are also so many places right in town that offer opportunities for new experiences.
Harvest Festival
This year is Toccoa Falls College's second annual Harvest Festival and will be led by the Residence Life (ResLife) staff. Last year, the Harvest Festival was one of the biggest events on campus, and, this year, it will be even bigger!
