Get Crafty This Christmas!

Christmas is fast approaching! Get in the holiday spirit by making these easy Christmas crafts we know you’ll love!

Candy Cane Reindeer

For this craft, you will need red and white candy canes, brown pipe cleaners, mini jingle bells, mini red “pom poms,” and a hot glue gun.

First, mold a pipe cleaner into the shape of an antler and glue it to the top of a candy cane. Next, glue a pom pom to the candy cane so that it looks like a nose. Then, glue a jingle bell to the side of the candy cane’s arch. Et voila! These are quick to make and great to hand out as party favors!

Mini-Doughnut Snowmen

To make these “snowmen” you will need: single-serve packages of powdered doughnuts, one orange and one black Sharpie or marker, string or ribbon, and black construction paper.

Use the orange marker to draw a carrot nose on a doughnut package. Use the black marker to draw dots for the eyes. Cut construction paper in the shape of a hat, and tape it to the top. Create a scarf from the string or ribbon and tape it to your “snowmen.” Easy to make and a tasty treat for all!

Jenga Christmas Ornaments (Mini Gift Ornaments)

For this fun craft, you’ll need the following supplies: Jenga game pieces, chalk paint (moss and crimson colors), white acrylic paint, paint brushes, hot glue gun and sticks, wood glue, thin ribbon, and scissors.

First, paint the Jenga pieces, and set them aside to dry. Try using parchment paper, so that when you paint all the sides at once, the surface won’t stick like it would with newspaper. Next, glue three Jenga pieces together along the long edge. Adding a dab of wood glue can create a better long-term hold, and a dab of hot glue will hold the ornament together while the wood glue dries. Then, cut a length of ribbon 4-6 times longer than the length of the ornament. Lay the ribbon flat under the ornament. Pull both ribbon tails into the center of the ornament front. Twist two ribbon pieces around once, then pull the tail ends to the back of the ornament over the top and bottom edges. Secure the tail ends on the back of the ornament with hot glue. Cut a 12-inch length of ribbon next, and slide it under the ribbon along the ornament's top edge. Tie both ends of the ribbon together with a knot, forming a loop to hang the ornament. Finally, cut a 10-inch length of ribbon. Slide it under the ribbon and twist it on the front center of the ornament. Tie it in a bow, and trim the tail ends at a 45-degree angle. And you’re done! Hang it on your tree for years to come!
