Play Review: Chronicles of Narnia
On November 15th-17th, The Theatrical Society performed this semester’s play: The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Envision Clarkston
Clarkston Georgia is a little town in Georgia that is home to many refugees from all over the world. Envision, which is a missions organization, works in Clarkston with a ministry set up in the apartment complex that is the home to many of these refugees. Three times each semester, a group of people from TFC who go to Clarkston and partner up with Envision to minister and show love to the people in Envision's area.
Relief in the Storm
During the recent hurricane, a group of TFC students traveled to provide relief help to those in need. The amateur relief corps was organized at the grassroots level by Sky Barkley. Without having any idea about what would lie ahead of them, this group of twenty-two individuals decided to spend their weekend helping with this vision.
New Year, New Talon!
Among all the changes on campus, The Talon also has a major change with a new editor. Last year’s editor, Nicole Petraglia, graduated this spring with a degree in Communication. Following in her footsteps is Amber Murphey as the editor for the 2018-2019 year.
TFC Theatrical Society Presents Shakespeare’s The Tempest
Beginning this Friday, the Toccoa Falls College Theatrical Society (TFCTS) will be performing William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. This performance will be filled with magical creatures, plots to murder, romance, and the all-powerful forces of nature.
Black Spade Society Interview
For the past few semesters an extensive video project has been underway at Toccoa Falls College. Lead by the Black Spade Society, a club run by James Hutton, this collaborative project is an ambitious undertaking to create a television-worthy show about life at TFC.
Eagle Radio’s Mighty Push
As students of Toccoa Falls College, some of you may have noticed flyers posted around campus promoting the Eagle Radio. Yes, we do have a student radio here at TFC. In fact, the radio has actually been airing for almost two decades now, facing many changes, songs, and talk shows.
Galentine’s
This past Thursday (2/15), girls from Fant and Letourneau went to Clary Care Center for a community partnership event hosted by ResLife. This event, called “Galentine’s,” was a way for students to form relationships and show their love for the ladies (and one gentleman) at the nursing home.
Creation Care & the Kokua Conservation Club
A few weeks ago we sat down with Molly Sharpe, the president and creator of the Kokua Conservation club (Kokua is Hawaiin for "mutual assistance" or "pitching in"), to chat with her about creation care on campus and real things we as a community, and as individuals, can do to help care for the environment.
Joyeux Episode Two
If you went to the Theatrical Society's play of Sense & Sensibility last week and wish to see another show, the Black Spade Society has you covered. Although it is not a play, and it will definitely be shorter, premiering this week is the Black Spade Society's second episode of JOYEUX: a story about TFC students by TFC students.
The Justice Campaign
The Justice Campaign is a TFC club that strives to meet social injustice with support, awareness, and action. Its mission is guided by God’s Word and motivated by His love. Each year the club prayerfully chooses a different social injustice to focus on for that academic year.
Sense and Sensibility
Another semester brings another anticipated performance from the TFC Theatrical Society. The Theatrical Society has featured wacky and creative adaptations of stories such as The Jungle Book and Robin Hood and are continuing down that path with their creative take on Sense & Sensibility.
Eagle Radio 2.0
This semester Toccoa Falls College’s Communication department has launched its online radio station, Eagle Radio. Savannah Smith, Eagle Radio’s manager, provided an insider’s look into this medium of communication including how to access it, different show times, positives and negatives, how to stay updated, as well as some additional information.
Student Organization Fair Highlight
TFC boasts many clubs and organizations that students may join to vitalize their college experience, and earlier in the semester students were exposed to the many different opportunities available to them at the Student Organizations Fair.
