Joyeux Episode Two
Joyeux is coming again.
If you went to the Theatrical Society's play of Sense & Sensibility last week and wish to see another show, the Black Spade Society has you covered. Although it is not a play, and it will definitely be shorter, premiering this week is the Black Spade Society's second episode of JOYEUX: a story about TFC students by TFC students.
The Black Spade Society is an official TFC club that started during the 2017 spring semester when James Hutton gathered volunteers to create a TV-worthy video series set in Toccoa Falls College. The group completed a pilot episode which aired in Grace Chapel last spring. The show was well received, and they wish to continue it for as long as possible. This semester, Episode 2 will be shown in Gate Cottage.
JOYEUX is a completely original, non-traditional, dialogue driven comedy-drama that focuses on characters and music. The first episode, which you can currently see on TFC's official website, the Black Spade Society's Facebook page, and YouTube, established the characters and their dynamics. Episode 2 will expand on Episode 1 by fleshing out the narrative and placing more emphases on music. If finishing all of your assignments and studying for finals has you stressed to the max, we invite you to relax by watching its premiere.
The showing will be held alongside Toccoa Falls For Life’s Open Mic Night on Thursday, November 30 at Gate Cottage. Open Mic Night will start at 9pm and the premiere will be directly afterward at 10pm. It is recommended to watch the first episode online before watching Episode 2. JOYEUX is a collaborative effort between students who wish to implement their skills, from music, acting, costume design, or general filmmaking, into a larger project. If you are interested and want to get in on the movie-making, ask to join in the fun next semester. Participating will be a good experience for anyone wanting to get into film-making and related creative activities. The Black Spade Society is always looking for new people to join.
