ResLife Welcomes Greenfield, Lackey to LeTourneau 2

Toccoa Falls College Residence Life has announced the 2022-2023 team! Katie Skeen, Resident Director of Fant and LeTourneau Halls, is very excited for next year’s team. “The girls we have hired have true depth to their faith and character,” Skeen said.

As a Resident Director and former Resident Assistant, Skeen understands the challenges of Residence Life. She wants her RAs to know that they have a strong support system. “You are not alone! You may at times feel the weight of this ministry, but you have a team of girls that are walking through the same season of life you are. Lean into their support and care,” she said.

Lackey, Greenfield are excited to lead together in LeTourneau Hall.

Alexis Lackey and Grace Greenfield will be first-year co-RAs on LeTourneau Hall’s second floor. They are most excited about the opportunity to build community with and among their freshman girls. “I have spent many hours thinking about the relationships that I will be able to form and how I will be able to help them in their transition to TFC,” Lackey said.

Lackey hopes to connect with her residents by having intentional conversations: “Their RA is a person who will listen no matter how hard things get for them. I plan to pour into them in whatever way that I can so that they will know that they’re never alone and that I will always be a listening ear.”

Lackey also enjoys working at TFC’s on-campus coffee shop, Odyssey Coffeehouse, where she will be delighted to serve coffee (or a chai tea latte!) to her freshman girls and converse with them while behind the counter.

Greenfield is excited to learn about her residents’ diverse experiences. “We all have stories to tell, and I would love to hear theirs,” she said.

The women shared that certain people have impacted them on their journey to becoming a successful future RA. Greenfield said that she had several great mentors throughout high school. “[They] were so important to me and my overall well-being, and therefore I really want to be that person to someone else. Even if it’s something minor, I just want my girls to know I’m there for them,” she said.

Lackey attributed her inspiration to her current RAs, Katy Ross and Natalie Hendrix. She appreciates their consistent encouragement and love, regardless of the circumstance. “[They] sat with me through some dark times… I wanted to be able to share this same love and support that I received with many other freshman girls next semester, because I truly believe that my RA's helped make my school year much better,” she said.

To the girls who will be living on L2 for the 2022-2023 school year, Lackey wants you to know: “I will dance it out with you, sit with you in complete silence, go on a walk with you, listen to you rant about a class, and/or give you advice whenever you need it. I'm here to pour into you and love on you. My heart is to connect with you, and I know that that can look differently for different people.”

These women are excited to meet, connect, and build relationships with incoming students.

And pay close attention: Greenfield loves dogs, so you may have the opportunity to see her get teary-eyed over the animal at some point!
