Athlete Spotlight: Michaela Priatko
Toccoa Falls College Freshman Michaela Priatko has been playing center back for the women’s soccer team since the Fall of 2017. Michaela started playing soccer with Upwards at the age of four, and she has been playing for various teams and organizations ever since. With her dad serving in the Army, Michaela moved around a lot, but always found a way to play for different recreational leagues, clubs, and pick up teams.
When asked what her favorite part of playing soccer at TFC is, Michaela immediately stated, “the closeness and community of the team.” She explained how “Everyone just pours into each other, helps each other and shows each other love.”
While Michaela said that time management is her biggest struggle both on and off the field, she said that she has been learning how to find a balance between soccer, school, and time with God, family, and friends. Michaela also enjoys singing but does not have much time for it. She is a people person, fun, and is thankful to be at TFC. Michaela is majoring in interpersonal communications so that she can work towards becoming a public speaker.
After moving to Stephens County, Michaela found out about TFC. While she loved the school, she prayed about where the Lord wanted her before deciding to come and play soccer. Michaela believes she has made the right decision and has enjoyed being close to her family.
