10 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas
Valentine's Day will be here before you know it! If you're running short on ideas for your special someone, we've got a list of ideas to get you started.
1. Star Gazing at Black Rock Mountain State Park
Black Rock Mountain State Park is located at 3085 Black Rock Mountain Pkwy, Mountain City, GA 30562. After hours you can still drive up to the visitors center and see a beautiful view of Clayton's city lights and beyond. But look above, weather permitting, and you and your loved one will find a beautiful painting of stars that shine upon you both. Simply gazing at these God-created lights will draw you in closer to the beauty of the world. But please be cautious as the viewing area is built into a small rock side so use the staircase to the left and plenty of lighting. Moreover don’t forget to bring jackets and blankets just in case it gets cold.
2. Eating about Clayton
Clayton, Georgia has plenty of restaurants to take your date to. Head north on Highway 441, and you will soon find Mama G’s Italian Restaurant to your right. This place serves delicious Italian food from pizza to lobster filled ravioli in Alfredo sauce. A little ways further down on the right and you’ll find Manrique’s Mexican restaurant that serves a wide range of Tex-Mex food that will satisfy your taco cravings. Follow the signs to downtown Clayton, above Highway 441, and you’ll find even more places to eat such as Clayton Cafe and Market, Fortify Kitchen and bar and Clarks’ on Main to mention a few. Don’t be afraid to adventure either as there are plenty of stores to visit and places to eat other than what was mentioned.
3. Gaming at the Fun Factory
The Fun Factory is located at 1024 Georgia Rd, Franklin, NC 28734. This place is full of fun activities from arcade games, huge trampolines, go-karts, mini golf, and more. You set the price point and spend your time getting lost like a little kid again. There’s tons of fun and memories to be made here. Furthermore the more tickets you gather the higher the prize you get to choose from the toy section. This is a great place for a group date.
4. Staying in to binge watch Netflix
Staying in can be just as fun as going out, and what better way than to watch Netflix with your significant other? You get to watch your most favorite movies to the most obscure ones and never run out of things to watch. So pop some popcorn and get comfortable as you both binge on Netflix.
5. Picnic at Smithgall Woods State Park
The address for this park is 61 Tsalaki Trail Helen, GA 30545 in White County. Pack a lunch and visit this scenic park to eat amongst the beauty of nature. There is a 5$ parking fee so make sure to bring cash. Afterwards you and your loved one can even try out geocaching, or bring bikes to bike, or reserve a time to do archery but of course it will be another fee and you need your own equipment. Moreover you can fish, hike, and just take photos of your time there.
6. Trek Pickens Nose trailhead
Pickens Nose Trailhead is at Ball Creek Rd, Otto, NC 28763. This place is open 24 hours and has a beautiful rock side to take pictures at. This trail is considered to be easy and a great place for photographic moments. But be prepared to drive on a narrow and steep dirt road, but afterwards you’ll get a rewarding view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
7. Bowling at Rose Lanes Bowling Center
This bowling lane can be found at 910 Rose Ln, Toccoa, GA 30577. This is another great place to have a group date and you can even make reservations with notification ahead of time. This place has a great atmosphere to just relax and have fun. So try it out, and you may just strike a perfect date.
8. Have a game night
One of my most favorite things to do is have a game night. What better way to get to know your love interest or reinforce your relationship than to have a night of healthy competition? Invite others (the more the merrier) and have snacks, drinks, and music playing in the background. Want to see mayhem? Time to bring out Monopoly. Want to see if you’re a good match? Then play charades. But whatever you do, bring, or play, remember to enjoy it all in good fun.
9. Go to a concert
This one may not be as easy to plan or do on Valentine's Day, as it’s just in a few days. But who said you had to go on that day? You can always gift the tickets to whoever you want to go with. Going to a concert is a perfect ice breaker, especially if you both share a favorite musician. Once at the concert, you get to relax and jam out, singing and dancing to your favorite songs. Afterwards you have plenty of talking points and surely have made plenty of memories and Instagram posts.
10. Just be together
As obvious and as simple as this idea is, people forget that Valentine's is a day to be with the people you love, whether its a significant other or family and friends. You don’t have to give out crazy amounts of gifts, surprises, or activities, you just need to be there. Show the people in your life that you love them no matter what, that love endures and is a reflection of God’s true and perfect love. Remember that we are finite beings and the path of love, in all its forms, uplifts God and creation. So enjoy Valentine’s day.
