TFC Athlete Spotlight: Madison Lamontagne

Madison Lamontagne is a junior biology major who proudly wears the #10 jersey at the libero position for the Toccoa Falls College volleyball team. A native of Kathleen, GA, Lamontagne was introduced to the sport while in the sixth grade.

“I fell in love with the sport because it was a place where I was encouraged and pushed to be the best I could be,” Lamontage says.

She gives credit to her mentor and inspiration, Coach Anita Crouch. Lamontagne says Crouch’s love of the game and her players inspired the young athlete to continue playing volleyball throughout high school and college.

Lamontagne says TFC’s volleyball program has helped her in her pursuit of growth on and off the court. Besides learning new skills in her sport, the libero has served as a student worker for the Humanities Department and as the social media manager for the volleyball team. She has learned how to operate and manage a social media platform, organize fundraisers and effectively resolve conflict.

“My time at TFC has shaped me into a stronger person,” Lamontagne says. “[...] Ultimately, I have become more refined in both my volleyball skills and leadership abilities!”

Playing volleyball at TFC is special to Lamontagne because of the amount of support the team receives from students, faculty and staff. She says the fans’ encouragement and support positively impacts their ability on the court. Lamontagne is looking forward to the rest of the season with her teammates, and she says she is excited to “take home some more dubs.”

After her time at TFC, Lamontagne intends to go to dental school and become a pediatric dentist. She has a heart for cultivating God’s kingdom, and hopes to use her career as a mission field and means of sharing the Gospel.

As of late September, TFC Volleyball is enjoying a seven-game winning streak, including a win over the Hmong Student Association’s volleyball team in a scrimmage contest on September 19.

If you would like to support the TFC volleyball team, home games are held on campus inside the Lois Delaney Athletic Center. For schedules, results, live stream links for away games and more, click here. You can also find out more about the program by following @tfcvolleyball on Instagram.
