People of TFC: Skye Monroe
When asked what her favorite thing about TFC is, Skye Monroe did not hesitate to give her answer as: “The people.” Skye absolutely loves people, so her Children’s and Family Ministry major is fitting. As sophomore, Skye’s is also participating in first year as an RA in LeTourneau Hall. On the topic of being an RA, Skye says: “It will wreck you, but it is so worth it.” Skye expressed how much she loves the job, even with tasks such as planning hall events, lobby duty, entering maintenance request, and many other things. She continued to explain how much she loves the Resident Life group, Katie Throne, the girls on her hall, and the relationships she has with them.
Skye’s caring personality has a big impact on almost everyone she meets, and especially the girls on her hall. For those who have a large realm of impact, there is usually someone behind them, building them up. It is from this that they can turn around and influence others. For Skye, it was her family that had the biggest impact on her life. Skye explained how she grew up with great parents and a great sister who all helped to shape her into who she is today. Sky also took some time to reflect on the impact that TFC has had on her. She says that the biggest thing her time on campus and her time as an RA has taught her and is that “only Jesus can satisfy.”
Loved by many, Skye has touched the lives of students and staff around campus. Whether it’s her classmates, friends, family, or those passing her on the street, Skye pours into everyone she meets. The people, TFC, and especially LeTourneau Hall are beyond blessed to have her.
