Opinion: Top 5 Netflix Christmas Movies

As Christmas rapidly approaches Netflix begins to stream anywhere from the best to the worst holiday movies of all time. To help you decide which movies are worth watching in your spare time before December 25th arrives, I'm giving you my top five Netflix movies to watch -- or rather avoid watching, depending on your taste. Grab your popcorn, take a seat, and get ready for the joy of the season to fill your hearts with warmth!

First, with a five-star rating on my list is a 1954 musical/romance film directed my Michael Curtiz: White Christmas. In this classic tale a successful song-and-dance team become romantically involved with a sister act and team up to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general.

Second, with a four-star rating is Christmas with the Kranks, a 2004 comedy and family film directed by Joe Roth. With their daughter away, the Kranks decide to skip Christmas altogether... until she suddenly decides to come home, causing an uproar as they try to celebrate the holiday at the last minute. With great acting, unique plot, and comedic twists, this movie is worth the watch!

Next, with three stars is Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! A 2000 comedy, fantasy, and family film directed by Ron Howard. The story takes place in Whoville where the residents enjoy celebrating Christmas, all except for the Grinch, a hideous, eccentric, and egotistical creature who hates the holiday. Watch as the reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville.

Fourth, with a two-star rating is The Princess Switch, a 2018 romantic comedy film directed by Mike Rohl. A Chicago baker (Vanessa Hudgens) is competing in a Christmas baking competition in Belgravia. When she unexpectedly meets the prince's fiancee, they find that they look alike and decide to switch places for two days.

Lastly, with one star on my list is The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, a 2018 fantasy/family film. In this movie, all Clara wants is a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a gift from her late mother.

Now that we have made it to the end of the list, I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas. I pray that the harmony of Christmas stays in your hearts all year 'round!
