New Podcasts Come to Eagle Radio
Have you ever wanted to know what other students think about the professors, certain classes, or the tedious hours we all have to spend studying? Have you ever been unable to go to a sports game and wanted to know what happened? Do you want to just sit around and talk about crazy childhood stories?
If the answer is yes to any of that, TFC’s Eagle Radio has come to your aid. This semester, and any semester you attend at TFC, Eagle Radio will be presenting a variety of podcasts that students from all grades, majors, and backgrounds should be interested in. Each student-run podcast is free and can be accessed any time from the Eagle Radio website at: https://eagleradiodottfcdotedu.wordpress.com/.
Starting this semester, there are four new and upcoming podcasts. The shows cover different topics such as classes, sports, funny childhood stories and other aspects of campus life. I was able to talk a bit with each host and speak with them about their podcasts.
Advice From Two Broke Upperclassmen
This is a weekly podcast, run by two upperclassmen named Cynthia Twiford and Ami Gurta. They will be sitting down and giving advice about weekly topics “such as classes, study habits, professors, etc.” This podcast is mostly helpful for underclassmen who want to know how other students have handled their busy lives at TFC. It is an entertaining series for those who are just seeking a helping hand.
Cold Takes
Anyone interested in sports will love this podcast. This podcast stars Dante Edwards, Reilly McCullough, and Timothy Heath. Among other topics, they discuss TFC athletics, which is especially helpful if you were not able to make it to a game. The hosts had a brief comment for those who are interested: “Cold Takes is a sports podcast where Reilly McCullough and Dante Edwards attempt to familiarize Timothy Heath with the previous week in sports. Tim has given up watching sports for the time being. We’ll use a variety of bits and segments, and occasionally a fourth guest.”
LittleLarge Chats
This a very memorable chat podcast series hosted by Lindsey LaRoche. On the show, Lindsey will sit down with a guest and reminisce over funny childhood stories and other crazy little moments that have happened in their lives. If you love funny and sometimes embarrassing stories you should check this podcast out.
Apocalyptic
This interesting podcast focuses on different topics with a bit of a twist. According to the host, who wishes to remain anonymous, “Each episode will begin and end with a small skit where it appears we are broadcasting from the zombie apocalypse and the episode acts as a captain’s log." In between the skits, the host will be talking about topics like “movies, campus life, mental health, music, books, our faith, etc.” The conversation will “mostly be free-flowing,” but may contain “guided questions related to the topics for us to answer throughout the episode”. It also will contain “mini segments like one-minute movie reviews."
