How to Spruce Up Your Coffee

With the end of the semester right around the corner and all those finals, papers, projects, and final assignments coming up, coffee might become your best friend right about now. While coffee is good in its simplest form, just black, there are some ways to spruce it up a bit.

  1. Add cinnamon or nutmeg - it gives a nice, new taste to your coffee. You can customize it to your liking, with just a hint of the spices or a stronger taste. And if you’re into pumpkin spice and have the spice in your cabinet, try a dash of it for pumpkin spice during the spring!

  2. A pinch of salt - adding salt to your coffee with help cut the bitterness of the coffee. If the coffee you’re using coffee grounds that are made from good beans, the salt isn’t as necessary, as there be any or that much of bitterness, but salt is also a good additive to cold brews.

  3. Vanilla extract - if you want to add just the right amount of sweetness and don’t want to reach for the creamer, try a couple of drops of pure vanilla extract. It will provide just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming.

  4. Coconut milk: If milk isn’t your first option, try coconut milk! The coconut milk with add sweetness and a little bit more of flavor to your coffee. And to go the extra mile, add the pure vanilla extract for a make-your-own-creamer

  5. Ice cream - if you’re looking to get a little crazy, add a scoop of icecream to your coffee. It’s a nice alternative to iced coffee, especially as the weather gets hotter.

While all of these are nice, nothing beats your perfect cup of coffee! So stick to what you know and love, or if you desire, go out on a limb and try something new!
